Who is this Membership Tier Ideal for?

You may find the Gold membership a great choice if you are looking for an extended stay in Thailand but do not want to commit to a very long period of time in the country. With only 5 years of validity and the lowest price out of all the other alternatives, you do not have to invest more time and money if your planned stay will be only a few years. It’s also a great trial option, as you can upgrade your Gold membership to higher tiers if you want to stay longer in Thailand.

Gold is also a good fit if you do not need to bring any family members with you to Thailand. There is no family option and a minimum of 20 privilege points are provided, but these drawbacks won’t affect you if you are traveling solo.

Exclusive Benefits of the Thailand Privilege Gold Membership

The Thailand Privilege Gold membership offers additional and exclusive benefits that distinguish it from the old Thai Elite Visa packages. These perks are designed to boost your overall enjoyment and add a high level of convenience during your time in the country.

Privilege Points System

This new feature allows you to choose the perks you want to enjoy while in Thailand through a points redemption system. It offers greater flexibility in personalizing your membership package by giving you control over your choices.

As a Gold Member, you are entitled to 20 free points per year.
Your privilege points reset back to the default amount on an annual basis. For example, if you spent 18 points this year, it will still reset to 20 the following year.
It is advisable to use up all your points in a single year, as any points you have will not carry over to the subsequent year.

What perks can be redeemed using the Thailand Privilege Points?

The Thai Privilege Visa also grants you access to privileges beyond the complementary ones included in your membership package. With the points redemption system, you can spend privilege points to acquire a variety of free perks. There are dozens of available benefits, which are grouped into five general categories.

Easier application and immigration procedures

ED Visa holders are now considered: You now qualify for the Thai Privilege Visa as long as you acquired your Education (ED) Visa through legitimate means. You must also provide additional documents from your educational institution and complete an Education Visa Holder Acknowledgement form.

Upgradable from the Thai Elite Visa Easy Access membership

As a holder of a 5-year Elite Easy Access membership, you can upgrade to the GOLD package. While you do have to pay some annual fees, no upgrade fee is required.

Holders of a 5-year Elite Easy Access membership are able to upgrade to the GOLD package and its privileges and services, free of charge.

Annual Fees: 50,000 baht (approximately $1,380 USD).
Validity: Remaining validity period on the Elite Easy Access.

How to apply for a Thailand Privilege Gold Membership Package?

Before applying, it's advised that you reach out to a government-partnered General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) for assistance. GSSAs are reliable experts authorized by TPC to work alongside you to complete your application and ensure your journey is as seamless as possible. They provide a myriad of services ranging from in-depth application review procedures to even submitting your application on your behalf, and thanks to government subsidies these services are all FREE of charge.

7 primary steps to Thailand Privilege membership application process

Contact your GSSA and inform them of your interest in the Gold Membership. They will issue you an application checklist as well as the correct forms to complete.
Complete the required forms, gather the documents you need, and send them to your GSSA. You also need to pay the application fee. Your GSSA will review everything before submitting it through Thailand Privilege’s online portal.
Wait for Thai Immigration to complete the background check, which takes between 4-6 months. Your GSSA will provide you with login details for the online application portal to track and monitor the status of your application.
You will receive an approval letter and invoice upon successful completion of your background check.
Pay your membership fees to Thailand Privilege Card within 30 days of receiving the letter and invoice.
Await receipt of the welcome letter and membership ID within 5-10 working days. While optional, you can also choose to acquire a physical Thailand Privilege card.
Book an appointment with the member contact center and affix your 5-year visa to your passport either at a Royal Thai Consulate or Embassy (if abroad), Thai International Airport (if abroad), or Thai Immigration Office (if in Thailand).

Timeline and Duration

The time it takes for you to complete your Thailand Privilege Visa application can depend on certain factors such as your nationality or any potential delays. The total timeline is between 1 to 3 months on average.

Background checks: between 4 to 6 weeks
Payment Confirmation: between 1-2 weeks
Receiving the Welcome kit (welcome letter and membership ID): 5 to 10 working days after payment has been cleared

Is the 5-year Thailand Privilege Membership Upgradable?

Yes, you can upgrade your current Thailand Privilege Gold Membership to either:

The Thailand Privilege Platinum Membership for 600,000 baht
The Thailand Privilege Diamond Membership for 1,600,000 baht
The Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership for 4,100,000 baht

Upgrading your membership costs a 100,000 baht upgrade fee and requires completing an application form.

As a holder of the old Thai Elite Visa, can I upgrade to a Thailand Privilege Gold Membership?

Yes. If you have an Elite Easy Access membership, you can upgrade to a Gold membership package at no additional cost. However, you need to pay 50,000 baht a year until the last day of your membership.

Can I receive any assistance with bank accounts, driver’s licenses, and 90-day reporting on the Gold Membership?

By spending 1 privilege point, you can hire an Elite Personal Liaison (EPL) for assistance with completing your 90-day report. You can also request their assistance with opening your bank account and acquiring a driver’s license by spending only 2 privilege points.

Can a family member apply for the Gold Membership?

Your family members are welcome to apply for Gold Memberships, but they have to pay the full membership fee of 900,000 baht and submit an entirely separate application. There are no additional benefits granted to family members applying for a Gold Membership.

Is the Thai Privilege Gold Membership Card transferable?

The Gold Membership Card is non-transferable. Any friends or additional family members interested in this membership package will need to submit a separate application.
