The new Thailand Privilege Bronze membership is now the lowest-cost option for those who want the convenience and VIP privileges of the Thailand Elite Visa without all the extra rewards. Thailand Privilege is still the easiest and most rewarding way to stay in Thailand long-term, but now, members have even more flexibility over their costs and rewards.

However, interested applicants should act fast. Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (TPC), the government-owned entity running the program, has announced that Bronze membership will only be available from December 15th, 2024 to June 30th, 2025.

Bronze membership provides most of the same convenient travel privileges and VIP services that the higher tiers provide but without the Privilege Points and extra benefits. This lowers the price while keeping the ease and comfort the Thailand Elite Visa has been known for.

If you have recently applied for a different Thailand Privilege membership but would now like to apply for Bronze instead, you can do so by submitting a Bronze Membership Application form.
If you have not yet paid the membership fee, you can switch your application seamlessly.
If you have already paid for a Gold membership, you cannot switch to Bronze and receive a partial refund. However, you will receive an additional full health check-up redeemable in 2025.

How to apply for a Thailand Privilege Bronze Membership Package?

Before applying, it's advised that you reach out to a government-partnered General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) for assistance. GSSAs are reliable experts authorized by TPC to work alongside you to complete your application and ensure your journey is as seamless as possible. They provide a myriad of services ranging from in-depth application review procedures to even submitting your application on your behalf, and thanks to government subsidies these services are all FREE of charge.

7 primary steps to Thailand Privilege membership application process

Contact your GSSA and inform them of your interest in the Bronze Membership. They will issue you an application checklist as well as the correct forms to complete.
Complete the required forms, gather the documents you need, and send them to your GSSA. You also need to pay the application fee. Your GSSA will review everything before submitting it through Thailand Privilege’s online portal.
Wait for Thai Immigration to complete the background check, which takes between 4-6 months. Your GSSA will provide you with login details for the online application portal to track and monitor the status of your application.
You will receive an approval letter and invoice upon successful completion of your background check.
Pay your membership fees to Thailand Privilege Card within 30 days of receiving the letter and invoice.
Await receipt of the welcome letter and membership ID within 5-10 working days. While optional, you can also choose to acquire a physical Thailand Privilege card.
Book an appointment with the member contact center and affix your 5-year visa to your passport either at a Royal Thai Consulate or Embassy (if abroad), Thai International Airport (if abroad), or Thai Immigration Office (if in Thailand).

Timeline and Duration

The time it takes for you to complete your Thailand Privilege Visa application can depend on certain factors such as your nationality or any potential delays. The total timeline is between 1 to 3 months on average.

Background checks: between 4 to 6 weeks
Payment Confirmation: between 1-2 weeks
Receiving the Welcome kit (welcome letter and membership ID): 5 to 10 working days after payment has been cleared

Frequently Asked Questions

As a holder of an old Thai Elite Visa, can I upgrade to a Thailand Privilege Bronze membership?

Unfortunately, TPC has not released details about upgrading legacy Thailand Elite Visas to a new Bronze membership. However, you can upgrade your old Thai Elite Visa to a Gold, Platinum, Diamond, or Reserve membership.

Can I add family members to my Bronze membership?

No, as with the Gold membership, family additions are not possible. Each family member must apply for their own Bronze membership separately. Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve members have the option of adding family members for a reduced price.

Will Bronze membership be available indefinitely?

No, the announcement by TPC in November of 2024 stated that Bronze membership will only be available from December 15th, 2024 to June 30th, 2025. It is possible that TPC may make this a permanent feature, but this has not been confirmed. Contact Siam Legal directly for the latest updates.

What is the difference between Gold and Bronze membership?

First, Bronze membership costs only 650,000 THB compared to Gold’s fee of 900,000 THB. Beyond the price, the primary difference is the lack of Privilege Points. Gold tier and above receive an annual allotment of Privilege Points to redeem for free perks such as free rounds of golf, domestic flights, and medical/wellness treatments. Bronze membership still has nearly all of the permanent discounts and special offers that other tiers get, but does not receive any yearly points.

Which is better, the DTV or Thailand Elite Bronze?

This depends on your goals and situation. While the DTV is cheaper, you must prove that you are a professional remote worker or enroll in specific activities in Thailand. You must also prove that you have at least 500,000 THB in liquid funds in a bank account. Bronze membership has no such requirements.

The DTV also only allows for stays of 180 days, whereas you can stay for an entire year in Thailand with the Bronze membership before needing to leave the country and return or apply for a stay extension. Furthermore, the DTV provides zero extra benefits beyond the visa.
