Thailand Elite Visa Upgrade 2023

As per the announcement made by the Thailand Privilege Card Co. Ltd. on August 15, 2023, all current Thailand Elite Visa members under the Elite Easy Access program may be able to upgrade their current membership to either Elite Ultimate Privilage or Elite Superiority Extension any time 3 months before the expiry of their Elite Easy Access membership.

Thailand Elite Easy Access members may apply for an upgrade to the following packages below.

Upgrade to Elite Superiority Extension

If you choose to upgrade from the Elite Easy Access to the Elite Superiority Extension, the membership fee will be 500,000 THB, VAT is included, and you will get an additional 15 years to your membership.

Note:
If you previously paid 500,000 THB for the Elite Easy Access, then it’s required to pay an extra 500,000 THB. On the other hand, if you paid 600,000 THB, then it’s required to pay 400,000 THB.

Documents Required

• Application form for the upgrade (Elite Superiority Extension or Elite Ultimate Privilege)
• Copy of your current Thailand Elite membership
• Copy of your passport, with at least 1 year remaining
• Copy of your photo - Must be in colour
• PDPA form
• Copy of TM30 and latest entry stamp on passport (Only if you’re in Thailand)

Application Procedure

Before you decide to upgrade, it’s important to know that once you upgrade your package, you won’t be able to use the Elite Easy Access anymore.

Here are the following steps tat you need to follow when you want to upgrade:

1. Fill out the application form for the preferred 20-year Thai Elite package.
2. Create an email to Siam Legal, and request that you wish to upgrade your package. Also, attach the necessary documents including:
• Application form for the upgrade (Elite Superiority Extension or Elite Ultimate Privilege)
• Copy of your current Thailand Elite membership
• Copy of your passport
• PDPA form
• Updated photo of yourself in color
• Copy of TM30 and latest entry stamp on passport (Only if you’re in Thailand)
3. When Siam Legal receives your email, it will be passed to Thailand Immigration which will request a background check.
4. Once the background check is completed, you will receive an approval letter and payment instructions.
5. Follow the payment, and send the invoice to Thailand Privilege via email
6. You will receive an email from Thailand Privilege informing you of your new package and instructions on how to get it affixed to your travel documents.

Special Conditions

• An extra 15 years on top of your current 5 years from the Elite Visa.
• Loss of transfer service perk, so you won’t get a free car service from the airport to your accommodation.
• Other perks are the same as the Elite Easy Access.

How long will the upgrade take?
The upgrade process will take about 2 to 3 months

How much does it cost to upgrade to Elite Superiority Extension?
If you previously paid 500,000 THB for your 5-year Easy Access Visa, then you have to pay an extra 500,000 THB. However, if you have paid 600,000 THB, then you have to pay 400,000 THB.

Do you need to be in Thailand to upgrade your application?
No. You don’t need to be in Thailand to do the application.

If I'm halfway through my current package, can I cancel it to apply for another Thailand Elite Visa package?
Yes, you can But you have to pay for the full amount of the membership you wish to apply for.

Can I apply for Thailand Elite Membership if I’m holding a ‘Non-Immigrant (B) Visa’ with a work permit?
No, you cannot. Elite Visa is already considered a long-term tourist visa, therefore it is not allowed you to legally apply for a work permit. But you can apply for an Elite Visa while having a Non-Immigrant (B) visa, but it must be cancelled along with the work permit before the Elite Visa is affixed and validated.

Can You Upgrade Your Thai Elite Visa?
Yes you can! But this is only for the Elite Easy Access package.

With this package, the validity of your visa will be 5 years, which will cost you 600,000THB with no annual fee. There are no age restrictions for those interested to apply.

When Should You Apply/Upgrade

All current Thai Elite Visa options will come to an end on September 15, 2023. And if you are someone who wants to apply for the current packages, you still have time to apply. It will take between 1-3 months to get everything finalized.

However, there's good news! It’s not the end of the Thailand Elite Visa. New packages will be introduced, and details about these options will be revealed before October 1, 2023.

If you are an Elite Easy Access holder and want to upgrade to a 20-year plan, such as the Elite Superiority Extension, or Elite Ultimate Privilege, you must submit your upgrade application 3 months before the expiry of your Elite Easy Access membership.

There are two key points to remember:

• New applicants can still apply, but it must be done before September 15
• Current Elite Easy Access members can upgrade to a 20-year plan any time 3 months prior to the expiration of their membership
• New plans will be launched starting from October 1, 2023

New updated versions of Thailand Elite Visa memberships will be available after October 2023, and the current memberships will be discontinued. At the time of writing this article, there is no news regarding the new memberships.

Current holders of the Elite Easy Access can upgrade to either Elite Ultimate Privilege or the Elite Superiority Extension before August 15, which will give you 20 years instead of the current 5 years offered by Elite Easy Access.
