If you have declared bankruptcy, you can still apply for the Thai Privilege Visa and submit your application. However, depending on your current situation or your bankruptcy history, you might end up getting rejected during the background check.
How to pass the background check?
As an applicant, you may be turned down during the background check if:
- You were recently made bankrupt.
- You have a long history of declaring bankruptcy.
- You are currently bankrupt.
However, if the following applies to you below, there is a possibility that Thai Immigration Services may not decline your application:
- If your declaration was wiped from your record.*
- You are now financially stable.
*NOTE: Some countries only keep bankruptcy records for a certain number of years before taking it off record (for instance some Western countries only show a citizen’s bankruptcy on their credit report for 10 years before removing it).
Whatever documents you would need to submit as proof of bankruptcy is up to the discretion of the Thai Immigration Officers.
