How do the new Thai Privilege Visas impact the old Thai Elite Visas?

New Thai Privilege Visas

Back on September 15, the old Thailand Elite Visa packages were discontinued to make way for the new Thailand Privilege Visa packages. However, before that date, applicants were still allowed to apply for the old packages. If you’re someone who applied before the deadline, then this video is for you. What we’re going to discuss is how you’re going to be impacted from here on out as a holder of a Thai Elite Visa.

Fortunately, there’s good news in the sense that you’re still allowed to benefit from the Thai Elite Visa. You can still leverage privileges such as the multi-entry long term visa, free 90-day reporting assistance, access to the immigration fast-tracking lane at the airport, complimentary assistance in opening a bank account and so on.

You’re still allowed to upgrade your visa from a 5-year Elite Easy Access to either a 20-year Elite Superiority Extension or a 20-year Elite Ultimate Privilege membership. As long as the date you’re upgrading it on is over 3 months prior to the expiry date of your current membership, you’re given free reign over this.

Holders of an old Thai Elite Visa are also eligible to upgrade to a new Thailand Privilege membership. You can choose either to keep the Elite Visa membership while keeping the same benefits and perks that you are using now, or you can switch directly over to a Thailand Privilege membership to embrace entirely new privileges.

But, in case you’d like to switch over to the new packages, what’s new for you? If you make the switch, one of the major additions is the new privilege points scheme. This nets you a certain number of privilege points to use each year, granting you more flexibility as you can spend points to acquire any of the privileges that the Thailand Privilege program provides. You can spend these on privileges such as health checkups, airport transfers, limousine services, discounts at golf courses and spa parlours, airport lounges, and more.

Unlike the old Thai Elite Visa where the privileges are bundled with the membership package, the new Thailand Privilege Visa grants you more freedom in selecting privileges based entirely on your preferences.

There are also new privileges added to the Thailand Privilege memberships not present in the old Thai Elite packages. Examples include: movie tickets, concert tickets, yacht and boat rentals, private jet rentals, co-working spaces, personal accident insurance, free domestic roundtrip flights, and free hotel nights.

Thai Privilege members have more leeway in upgrading their memberships. Gold Members can upgrade to either the Platinum or the Diamond, and Platinum members can upgrade to the Diamond membership. This differentiates the new Privilege Visa from the old Elite Visa in the sense that as a Privilege Member, you’re able to freely upgrade to a higher tier, increasing your visa’s validity and netting you more privilege points. With the old Thailand Elite Visa, only Elite Easy Access holders can upgrade and even then it is to only one of two 20 year options.

Application processes with the new Thailand Privilege memberships will also be a lot faster than before, rewarding applicants with a far more streamlined approach to applying. These are some of the unique benefits you will get if interested in a Thailand Privilege Visa.
