Sawadee ka, this is Talisa from Siam Legal! As you’re all aware, there are upcoming changes to the current Thai Elite Visa options.
Because of the new updates, there is now a deadline for 5-year Elite Easy Access members to upgrade to a 20-year Elite Ultimate Privilege package. You now have until August 15, 2023, to submit your application for the upgrade. Given the length of the application, if you do not have the 5-year Elite Easy Access visa, and want the 20-year Elite Ultimate Privilege membership, you should apply for the Elite Ultimate Privilege membership right off the bat.
The upgrade costs 1,498,000 THB and applicants will need to be at least 20 years of age or older to qualify.
Applying for the upgrade is straightforward. To start, you will need to acquire the following documentation:
- a complete “Elite Easy Access membership to Elite Ultimate Privilege membership upgrade” application form,
- your passport,
- a colored photo of yourself, and
- a PDPA form
Fill out the application form first. You can download the specific form either on our website or send an email to Siam Legal’s Thai Elite team and we will issue a blank copy. Then send this along with the rest of the required documents to our email and request for an upgrade. Our Thailand Elite team will review all documents and submit them to the relevant authorities.
You will then have to go through a background check, and after this is successful you will need to pay your fees and await approval of your new membership. Once successful and Thailand Privilege has notified you via email, you can get your new visa stamped at the nearest immigration center or airport.
The whole process should take 1 to 3 months, with 4 to 6 weeks for the background check. As stated in your approval letter, you only have 7 days upon receiving the approval letter to pay your fees after the background check is done.
If you are successful in upgrading to an Elite Ultimate Privilege package, you will gain additional benefits. These include:
- free annual health checkups (twice a year),
- free dental checkups (once a year),
- a free green fee at golf courses (24 times per calendar year),
- free spa treatment (24 times per calendar year), and
- unlimited transfer service from airports to your new home
