Sawadee Ka, this is Talisa from Siam Legal again! As you all know, there are incoming changes to the current Thai Elite Visa programs.
If you purchased the Elite Easy Access package and want to upgrade to the 20-year Elite Superiority Extension membership, there is now a deadline. You now have until August 15, 2023, to upgrade it. If you do not hold a 5-year visa but want to apply for an Elite Superiority Extension membership, we recommend applying for the 20-year Elite Superiority Extension membership right off the bat rather than getting the 5-year visa first.
This upgrade costs 400,000 THB and requires the following:
- a completed “Elite Easy Access membership to Elite Superiority Extension” application form,
- a passport,
- a current photo of yourself in color,
- and a PDPA form
You can initiate the process by downloading the application form and have it filled out. Next, send it along with the required documents to our Thailand Elite email address and we review and submit it to the relevant authorities. The next steps are to go through a background check, pay your fees, and await approval for your new visa. If you’re successful, you will receive an email from Thailand Privilege and can get your new visa stamped at an immigration center or airport.
The whole process should take 1 to 3 months, with 4 to 6 weeks for the background check. Applicants also have 7 days to pay their fees upon receiving the approval letter after their background check.
There are significant differences between the Elite Easy Access and Elite Superiority Extension packages, however. If you have upgraded to the Elite Superiority Extension membership, you will lose access to the transfer service from the airport to your hotel. Despite this, you will get an additional 15 years added on top of your current 5 years visa.
