If you want to cancel an appointment, you must inform the Embassy no less than 3 days before the scheduled date.

What documents does the Embassy of Spain accept?

What documents you need to submit depends on the Embassy service in question, as every application has different requirements to complete. However, for most applications, there is a standard set of documents you will likely need to submit. For instance, if you are applying for a Schengen Visa, you generally need to submit the following:

  • Valid passport (with at least 6 months of validity remaining) or proof of Spanish citizenship
  • Valid Thai visa as a sign that you are living legally in Thailand
  • Passport-sized photograph of yourself (taken against a white background in the past 6 months)
  • Proof of sufficient finances (such as a recent bank statement)
  • Proof of accommodation in Spain (such as a hotel reservation document)
  • Proof of a return flight ticket back to Thailand (such as a flight itinerary)
  • Any additional documents as required by the Embassy or depending on the type of visa you are applying for

While the Spanish Embassy does play a major role in visa applications, the applications are initially received by BLS Spain (the Spanish visa application center). After all the biometric information has been collected, the visa application center will forward your application to the Embassy for further processing.

The Embassy is responsible for making a final decision on your application, which can take up to 15 days on average once they have received all documents from your end. They will notify you via email if any additional documents are needed. If an interview is required as part of your application, you will need to book one with the Embassy and attend it in person with the documents they request you to bring.

How Siam Legal can assist you with translation and legalization?

When applying for a service at the Embassy, whether it’s related to legal or immigration matters, all documents must either be in English or Spanish. If any are in a different language such as Thai, they must be accompanied by a certified translation.

Siam Legal is partnered with certified translators enlisted by the Thai government who will ensure swift and accurate translations for your documents. We will also carefully review each translation to make sure it satisfies the guidelines established by the Embassy. But our assistance is not limited to just helping you translate your required documents.

If any documents need to be legalized for international use, our team can provide further guidance. While legalization is handled by organizations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), documents must be notarized before undergoing this process.
