  • Consular services: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (Monday to Friday), 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Thursdays only).

What documents does the Italian Embassy accept?

The Italian Embassy accepts a wide range of different documents, depending on the visa or service you are seeking assistance with. If you are applying for a visa, such as a Schengen Visa, you will generally need to provide the following documentation:

  • Completed application form for the visa of your choice
  • Valid passport (at least 6 months validity remaining)
  • Passport-sized photograph of yourself (in color, size 35mm by 45mm, taken against a white background)
  • Proof of funds (i.e. bank statement)
  • Proof of accommodation in Italy (i.e. hotel reservation documents)
  • Flight itinerary with information on the return flight ticket
  • Any additional documentation as required by the embassy

When applying for a visa, the application typically goes through VFS Italy. After your biometrics have been collected, your application will be forwarded to the Italian Embassy for further processing. The final decision will be made at the embassy and if your application has been approved, your visa will be affixed to your passport.

The embassy is temporarily closed on some Thai and Italian public holidays. These consist of the following dates:

  • New Year’s Day on January 1
  • Makha Bucha Day on February 26
  • Monday of the Angel (Easter Monday) on April 1 
  • Songkran Day on April 13
  • Liberation Day on April 25
  • Labour Day on May 1

  • Birthday of H.M. Queen Sirikit on August 12
  • Chulalongkorn Day on October 23
  • Birthday of H.M. King Rama IX on December 5
  • Christmas Day on December 25
  • Saint Stephen’s Day on December 26

How to book an appointment with the Italian Embassy?

The Italian Embassy operates on a per-appointment basis for a majority of services. To book an appointment with the embassy, you will have to register an account on their official website. After completing your enrollment, you can log in to your account and schedule the date and time for your appointment. It is important to be aware that some services are only available during certain times of the day.
