Certificate of No ImpedimentIf you are an Australian national who plans to marry in Thailand, you need to obtain a Certificate of No Impediment issued by the embassy. If you are single and never been married, you only need to present your passport and if your marital status is divorced or widowed, you should present your decree absolute or your late spouse’s death certificate as evidence of this.
Certified copies of Passports and other documentsThe embassy provides a service certifying copies of original documents such as your passport, Australian Birth, Marriage or Divorce certificate. You need to present the original documents at the time of your appointment.
Australian Visa Services for Thai and Other Citizens in Thailand
The Australian Embassy in Bangkok does not process Visa applications in Thailand. The visa applications are handled by Australian VFS Thailand. The operations and services by the Australian Visa Application Centre are within the guidelines of client service principles of The Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
Thai and foreign citizens who need visa information may contact an immigration specialist who has a vast experience in handling Australian visas such as:
- Tourist Visa - to visit Australia for a short period of no more than 90 days per visit
- Fiancée Visa - to bring your Thai fiancé or civil partner to Australia to get married.
- Partner Visa - to allow the unmarried partner or de factor relationship to immigrate to Australia.
- Spouse Visa – to allow the Thai spouse of UK citizens or permanent residents to immigrate Australia.
